A week road-trip in Dordogne … 7 days

In heart of the Périgord, between gastronomy and time travel …

Day 1 :

Go and discover the “Périgord Pourpre” to start this journey, with Bergerac and Monbazillac, its chateau and its vineyards, lose yourself along the Dordogne and then take the direction of the Lot valley, Cahors, labeled city of Art and History.


Day 2 :

On the way towards the Regional Natural Park of the Quercy, a wilderness full of history, you will find the medieval town of Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, the decorated cave of Pech-Merle, and the famous “Gouffre de Padirac” that are waiting for a dip in time.

Day 3 :

Heading to the sacred Rocamadour, clinging to its cliff, lose yourself in its narrow streets, its castle, its Basilica, its Prehistoric Cave of Wonders … A nice stop that is sure to charm you!

Day 4 : 

Back in the Périgord, but this time it’s the “Périgord Noir” which welcomes you with Sarlat-la-Canéda in the first stage, without forget the Lacave caves on the road and Souillac. Enjoy the Sarladaise halt to discover the charms of the Dordogne, and especially its exquisite gastronomy! Stroll through its colorful markets, and continue to Les Eyzies-de-Tayac, for a return to prehistory.

Day 5 :

To continue, heading to Terrasson-Lavilledieu, but do not forget to stop in Montignac to walk in the footsteps of Cro-Magnon, down the Cave of Lascaux. Then enjoy the beautiful gardens of Terrasson-Lavilledieu.


Day 6 :

Take the path of the “Périgord Blanc”, to go walking towards Périgueux and enjoy the city, quiet getaway to the “pays de l’Isle”. You will go from the Gallo-Roman city to the Byzantine cathedral, and you could relax in its parks and flowering gardens.


Day 7 :

Already the end of your tour and the desire to return is not there? No worries, on the way back, enjoy a break to discover the vineyards of Pomerol and Saint-Emilion before returning your Camp’in Van.
