Weekend between Oléron Island and Ré Island … 3 jours

Day 1 :

Accompanied of your new companion, take the road of Marennes to stop and delected yourself with some fresh oysters facing the ocean, and then cross the bridge to reach the Island of Oléron. After Oléron Castle, enjoy being on the Island to go out to sea and discover the famous “Fort Boyard”. Then you will easily find a quiet corner away to enjoy your first night on board in your camp in van!


Day 2 :

Make a stop at the small village of Fouras, for a walk on the ocean’s edge with nice viewpoints on the Island of Oléron and the Fort. You may have an opportunity to meet the famous “Père Fouras”, who will ask you a riddle! Take the road towards La Rochelle, enjoy the old harbor, and stroll through its narrow streets … Then towards the Island of Ré, this time, take the opportunity to go to La Flotte, one of the most beautiful villages in France, and the “phare des Baleines”, the big lighthouse. Perched from a height of 57 meters and after climbing its 257 steps, you can get some stunning views.


Day 3 :

Road to Royan to end your little weekend in this small seaside town, do not miss the “Zoo of Palmyre” for an exotic afternoon! Take the ferry back to the Verdon-sur-Mer to be on the good side of the estuary, and go back to Camp in Van. Do not miss the few castles of the Medoc, to finish on a nice fruity notes.
