Summer escape in Brittany

This is with such an attendance Anne Françoise has shared her trip story, a full roadbook retracing holidays which seemed to be amazing!

“Day 1: Ile de Ré – La Couarde, many free carparks at the beginning of the town to park in. Nice ride in the bay. Day2: Rennes

Day 3: Dinard, let the van out of the city and go down the beach or the casino by cycle; too much traffic jam! Overnight in the campground of  “l’Aire du Verger” held by an eco-friendly who sell his own grown organic veggies! Basic campsite for 14€.

Day 4: Fréhel – Paimpol, Sea museum tour (4,1€/person). Retrace the Island fishermen’s life and a temporary exhibition about Lapérouse. Very interesting! Night in the Hotel Berthelot (40€) in the heart of Paimpol… Be careful of the market for the parking [for the record, we received a call from a lady at 7am to see if the van was ours. Maybe, then we knew our clients in Brittany, and she told us we had to move the van straight away, because of the market day, but from Bordeaux it seemed a bit tricky! So quick, we called Anne-Françoise, who confirmed she was parked there, despite the signs they didn't see the day before. Phew, the van didn't go to inpound lot, thanks to the sweet shop lady who gave us a chance ;) ]

Day 5: Tregastel – St Pol de Leon, Wonderful pink granite coast of Tregastel. Let’s go to the Renote’s beach, overnight in Saint Pol de Léon, in the campground Trogolote (44€ for 2 nights). Very clean and overlooking the Ocean, breathtaking view!

Day 6: Brest Oceanopolis, 3 pavilions (tropical – tempered – polar) to visit. Interesting and fun (20€/adult)

Day 7: Presqu’île de Crozon, Stroll around the “pointe des Espagnols” and “Cap de la Chèvre et de Dinan”. Overnight at Campsite “Les pieds dans l’eau”. Services and welcoming mean (polite, but without any warmth)

Day 8: Presqu’île de Crozon, tour of Camaret and Morgat. In Camaret, highlight is the Vauban tower. In Morgat, the beach.

Day 9 and 10: Concarneau, interesting and very nice, beaches, town near by, walks. Overnight in the campsite “Les Falaises”, 5 minutes driving from the Fouesnant forest. Warmful welcome, clean campground, and next to the beach. Very good service (less than 40€)

Day 11: Pornichet – Nantes, before coming to Pornichet, quick stop to the little Brigneau’s harbour (old pilchard fishing port) Peace and disorientation assured. Nantes, tour of the city.

Day 12: La Rochelle, Overnight at “Le beaulieu” campsite.

We had an amazing roadtrip, for a first in a van, the inside is well designed, congratulations!”

Thank you Fabrice and Anne Françoise for this story and the pictures which tempted us to go to Brittany and not fear anymore the famous line “it’s always raining in Brittany” ! Pictures with such a turquoise blue water than we realised the paradise is not that far away! ;)
